Site and Safety Requirements
Fireworks displays can be very dangerous if the necessary
precautions are not taken. Generally the safety distance required
between the spectators and the fireworks is 50m. In addition
we require another 100m as a safety fallout area. This would
mean that the minimum size required is about the size of a rugby
or football field. It is essential that reasonable security
is provided on site, enabling our crew to concentrate on the
display, instead of keeping over-inquisitive members of the
public from entering the cordoned-off danger areas.
Our prime objective is the safety of both the audience and our
workers at all times.
Site Visit
Generally it is difficult to plan a display without visiting
the site. Buildings and special features can be highlighted
or integrated into the display. On the other hand, buildings
may obstruct the effect. A site inspection is necessary to determine
the fireworks best suited and also to check whether any special
safety precautions need to be taken.
